5 CLASSROOMS BUILDING PROJECT,2024
We are excited to announce the initiation of a significant building project that will add five (5) new classrooms to our facilities. The construction commenced on November 4th 2024 and is expected to be completed before January 7th 2025, just in time for the students' return to school after the holiday break.
This project was initiated by the school and got a lifeline after Desislava Ivaylova Ivanova, a volunteer from Bulgaria mobilized her networks, family, and friends from all over the world to do a fundraising for its commencement.
Many people of goodwill have joined in to ensure the project is completed in good time. Lots of thanks to Magie & Antoana (Bulgaria), Deborah Murga (Switzerland), Karen Chapman & Sabino Pavone (Scuola 'Novalis'-Italy), Iro, Nefi, Angie, Sandy & partners in Greece, partners from France and Italy, and people from all over the world who contributed through the gofundme to get this project started.
For a while now, our students and teaching staff have endured poor learning conditions in a temporary structure made of old iron sheets-on both the roof and the walls. This building posed greater health risk to the learners and teachers, and was below the learning facility standard requirement by the Ministry of Education Science & Technology-Kenya.
The completion of the new classrooms will not only expand our capacity but also create a more conducive learning environment for our students and teachers. so far, 30% of the construction work has been completed-this is up to the Lintel level. However, the school still needs money to put up the roof, plaster the walls and floor; install electricity, windows and doors; and paint the building. This, according to the Bill of Quantities, will require € 13953. But the most urgently needed is the roof at a cost of €4113, to enable the learners have a class by January 7th.
